Towing and Roadside Services in Las Vegas

Economy Towing covers the Las Vegas valley: light, medium and heavy duty towing, roadside assistance, specialty transport and equipment hauling. This page is the short version of everything we do and who each service is for. If you already know what you need, the links below go straight to it. If your vehicle is not moving right now, call us and we will work it out on the phone.

Not every stopped vehicle needs a tow, and roadside assistance covers the battery, lockout, tire and fuel calls that do not.

Container and shed transport covers placement, repositioning and site access.

Equipment and machinery transport starts with four numbers off the data plate.

Trailer relocation for owners without a tow vehicle is one of the transport lines we run.

Towing, by what you are driving

Light duty covers cars, pickups, SUVs and vans. Most calls. Flatbed or wheel-lift depending on the vehicle, the drivetrain and where it is parked. All-wheel drive and low-clearance cars need a flatbed, and a driver who tells you otherwise is about to damage something. See light duty towing.

Medium duty covers box trucks, delivery vehicles, large vans, small buses and RVs. Different equipment and a different rigging approach, not simply a bigger truck. See medium duty towing.

Heavy duty covers tractor-trailers, buses, construction equipment and anything that needs a rotator or a heavy wrecker. This is the category where the recovery plan matters more than the tow, particularly off-road or on a grade. See heavy duty towing.

Motorcycles need their own handling: a motorcycle on a standard flatbed without proper chocks and soft straps gets damaged. See motorcycle towing.

Lowriders, exotics and low-clearance vehicles cannot be towed conventionally. Approach angle and ground clearance decide the method before anything else does. See lowrider towing.

Specialty transport and hauling

Fifth wheel and gooseneck trailers need the right hitch and the right tow vehicle, and a relocation is not the same job as a tow. See fifth wheel and gooseneck.

Equipment and toolboxes. Construction equipment, job-site machinery and large toolboxes, which need securing properly rather than strapped down and hoped for. See toolbox transport.

Long distance. Out-of-valley and interstate transport, planned rather than dispatched. See long distance transport.

Containers and sheds have their own constraint, which is almost always site access rather than weight. Gate width, overhead lines, turning radius and slope decide whether a delivery is possible before the container is loaded. See our write-up on moving storage containers versus portable sheds.

What a tow costs

What a tow costs and why nobody quotes it blind

Price depends on the vehicle class, the distance, the recovery difficulty and the time of day. A car on a flat curb and the same car nose-down in a wash are not the same job.

Anyone who gives you a firm number before knowing the vehicle, where it is and what condition it is in is quoting a job they have not seen. We have written on how call-out fees work, on whether price per mile actually explains a tow, and on what different job types cost.

Recovery: when the vehicle is not simply broken down

Stuck is a different job from broken. A vehicle in sand, in a ditch or off the shoulder needs a winch and a plan, and the wrong pull point damages a frame or a bumper permanently.

Desert recovery is its own skill in this valley and attempting it with a chain and a pickup is how a recoverable situation becomes an insurance claim. See cars stuck in sand and cars stuck in a ditch.

Recovery

Emergency and roadside

Emergency towing is the call after a breakdown or a collision, where the priority is getting the vehicle and the people out of traffic safely before anything else is decided. See emergency towing.

Roadside / jump starts

Roadside work that does not need a tow

A jump start, a flat tire change, a lockout, fuel delivery. In Las Vegas the seasonal pattern is unmistakable, because extreme heat kills batteries. We have written on jump starts after extreme heat, on cars that start once and die again, and on telling a battery problem from a starter or alternator problem before you call anyone.

Junk, abandoned and non-running vehicles

A vehicle that is not going to be repaired, a car abandoned on a property you manage, or something that has not run in years. Each has a different process and the abandoned one has a legal path that has to be followed. See junk car removal options and abandoned vehicle removal for property owners.
